◆ Tokyo stock trading delayed by system error
Tokyo Stock Exchange Inc. on Tuesday delayed the beginning of trading in stocks and convertible bonds because of a system malfunction. The company made an announcement shortly before trading was to begin at 9 a.m. It is the bourse's first major system failure since Aug. 1, 1997, it said.
China stocks close with 34 percent quarterly loss
SHANGHAI, March 31 - China's main stock index, hit by heavy new supplies of shares and slowing corporate profit growth, slid 3.00 percent on Monday to end the first quarter of this year with a loss of 34 percent, its biggest quarterly loss since 1992.
