U.S. stock futures higher before inflation data
NEW YORK, Oct 14 (Reuters) - U.S. stock futures rose on Friday after conglomerate General Electric Co. reported robust earnings in line with Wall Street expectations and before key U.S. data on inflation that could set the tone for early trading.
Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. shares rose in Monday afternoon trading, aided by a bullish note from JPMorgan predicting the dress shirtmaker will report earnings above its own forecast, and either make an acquisition or buy back shares in coming months.
Japanese stocks climb; dollar up vs. yen
Japanese stocks rose Wednesday, led by real estate, construction and steel companies as investors awaited the outcome of a two-day policy meeting of Japan's central bank.
