SEC narrowly OK’s trading rule

In one of the most sweeping changes to stock trading rules in years, a divided Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday narrowly approved a regulation requiring brokers to accept the best quoted price for any transaction, no matter which market it comes from.

Nationwide blackout strikes Colombia

Colombia's electrical grid collapsed Thursday, causing a nationwide blackout that briefly halted stock trading, trapped people in elevators and left authorities struggling to determine the cause.

Preparing for the Inevitable

We lived through 9/11. We lived through the London, Madrid and Bali bombings, too. Now al-Qaeda wants to destroy our financial technology infrastructure by launching a cyber attack against our online banking and stock trading infrastructure. Luckily, nothing came of this early December event, but we certainly need to be prepared for future attacks.
