Stocks drifted in negative territory for most of the session Wednesday on new housing and subprime woes, before paring some of their losses late in the session on speculation that the Federal Reserve may take additional action.
SEC scheduled to vote on Reg NMS Wednesday
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Federal securities regulators are scheduled to vote on a package of market regulations Wednesday that would overhaul the way stocks are traded.
Nacchio Guilty of Insider Trading
Joseph P. Nacchio, the telecommunications entrepreneur whose fortune swelled with the Internet boom, was convicted yesterday of 19 counts of insider trading for selling more than $50 million of Qwest Communications International stock when he knew the company's prospects were dwindling in 2001.
