Bear Stearns Profit Rises 36% to Record on Stock Trading, M&A
March 16 (Bloomberg) -- Bear Stearns Cos., the biggest underwriter of mortgage-backed bonds, said first-quarter profit rose to a record, led by revenue from trading, selling derivatives and arranging mergers.
