SINGAPORE : The Singapore Exchange is launching a second futures contract based on an Indian stock index and options. Its head of products and services group, Linus Koh, says the exchange will be launching the Nifty contract by October.

Nasdaq Stock Market Inc., the nation's second-largest stock exchange, on Thursday reported first-quarter profit rose 1.7 percent as charges related to its failed bid for the London Stock Exchange pared gains from new listings and trading.

LONDON (Reuters) - World stocks edged lower on Tuesday after a buoyant session the day earlier and the dollar climbed off its lows against major currencies. MSCI's all-country world stock index was down 0.2 percent, but only after Monday's gains that took it to new 2009 highs.
